Welcome to “Lemon Families in Victorian London – Trees with roots in the West Country". I’m Tim Lemon and two of my interests are family history and London in the 19th century. Perhaps this is just one interest because both are so closely connected.

 

My main objective is to tell some stories from the Lemon family tree – well, from some of its branches at least  - branches that spread across the UK’s West Country in the 17th century and then into London during the 18th and 19th centuries. This site mostly tell stories from the years of Queen Victoria’s reign and about life within an expanding London. There are some amazing and quite magical stories to share, which is why there is a magic lantern projector at the top of this page.
